Summary
This article describes and provides examples of Endorsed Learning Experiences.
What is an Endorsed Learning Experience?
Endorsed Learning Experiences allow ANZCAP members to autonomously document and self-reflect on a variety of significant professional experiences that have undergone an established peer review or peer recognition process as part of the professional activity.
Compared to other categories of learning experiences Endorsed Learning Experiences do not require addition collaboration with peers for evaluation or feedback as this has already been incorporated into the professional experience either by the nature of the activity or established understanding in the profession.
Endorsed Learning Experiences can contribute towards recognition of professional practice in a variety of ways by inclusion in both recognition portfolios and custom portfolios.
Types of Endorsed Learning Experiences
There are 6 different types of Endorsed Learning Experiences that can be used to document a broad variety of professional experiences. Please see the list below for the names and definitions of each type of Endorsed Learning Experience.

Evidence of contribution to groups of colleagues outside of direct workplace. Recognition by an external body or committee that individual is practicing as an area of practice representative or expert.
Evidence of an invitation by an organisation or professional body to deliver a keynote speech or share their professional experience with a target audience.
Evidence of completion of a post graduate qualification.  | |
Evidence of publication to show contribution to scientific/research progress.  | |
Evidence of certification of additional skills, knowledge, and/or experience in a subset of pharmacy practice. |
Endorsed Learning Experience Workflow
All Endorsed Learning Experiences involve 3 steps for completion; Prepare, Engage & Reflect.
Â
Prepare
Engage
Reflect*
Pharmacist identifies an appropriate professional experience that is significant to their practice or is a significant learning experience and aligns it with the appropriate type of Endorsed Learning Experience.
The pharmacist must independently determine:
Area of Practice
Pharmacist engages in the professional experience (skill or situation)
Pharmacist completes the LX digital tool, which guides the pharmacist to:
Engage in self-evaluation of key skills of the experience
Reflect on the experience by identifying strengths, areas for development & development goals
Upload evidence to support the Endorsed Learning Experience
Â
*Pharmacists may have engaged in discussion with professional peers, mentors or managers to encourage reflective practice. However, the Endorsed Learning Experience tool can be completed by the pharmacist without collaboration.
Â
Each type of Endorsed Learning Experience has it’s own digital tool on the AZCAP platform that will guide ANZCAP members through each step of the process. Alternatively pharmacists may use a comparative workplace based assessment tool from their own workplace or organisation and upload it to the ANZCAP digital platform where they can then confirm completion of an Endorsed Learning Experience.
