How to create a Learning Experience
A Learning Experience (LX) is a type of Workplace Based Assessment (WBA) tool that an ANZCAP member can use to record evidence of professional practice at a chosen ANZCAP Recognition level (e.g. Resident, Registrar, Consultant).
A LX can be created:
From scratch as a new LX
Cloned from a recently completed CPD activity (feature coming in future releases)
Creating an LX from scratch
1a. In the ANZCAP Landing Page, by selecting the “+New LX” button under the My draft Learning Experiences (LX) section:
OR
1b. LX library, by selecting the black “+ New LX” button:
Within the “Create Learning Experience” window, enter the LX title and select the LX activity type.
Once you have selected the LX type a description of the LX type will appear in the description box below.
One you have chosen the correct LX type, select save. The LX page will open in a draft form.
Some types of LX are available as both the autonomous and collaborative category.

Editable sections within the LX are:
Banner bar details
Learning Experience Details
Learning Experience Criteria
Reflection & Goal Development
Supporting Evidence
User declaration (Autonomous & Endorsed categories only)
Collaborator details and declaration (Collaborator categories only)
Please refer to the individual articles on each LX type for further guidance on how to complete each type of learning experience.
4a. For Autonomous and Endorsed LXs, the status of the LX will change from “draft” to “validated” with completion of the User declaration.
4b. For Collaborative LXs, the status of the LX will change from “draft” to “validated” with completion of the Collaborator declaration.
If the candidate and collaborator are not in the same location, then the candidate may share access to the LX by selecting the “clipboard” button 📋. This will generate a link, which can be shared with the collaborator. The collaborator can then complete the collaborator declaration on their own device.
The status of the LX in the banner bar will change to validated.
Once a Collaborative LX is validated by the collaborator, the user may only make changes to the Reflection & Goal Development and the Supporting Evidence sections. All other sections are locked and can not be edited.
Once an Autonomous or Endorsed LX is validated by the user, all sections are locked and can not be edited.
Use of Validated LXs
All Learning Experiences are stored within the LX Library.
You may complete the following actions within the LX tile:
View the details of the LX by selecting the “View LX” button
Delete the LX by selecting the ellipsis in the top right hand corner of the LX tile, and choosing “Delete Learning Experience”
Allocate the LX to a recognition or custom portfolio
