Summary

This article describes how to use the LX library and how to build LX that can be included in recognition portfolios and custom portfolios.

What is the Learning Experience (LX) library?

The learning experience library is the repository of all learning experiences used within ANZCAP.

Access the LX library by STEPS

Learning experiences are associated with a relevant LX Activity type. A process is then initiated to complete the LX that normally includes:

  • Evidence of the learning experience e.g. pdf document

  • A form or questionnaire to complete

  • Validation of the LX

See below for a full list of available LX activity types.

See below for further information on LX validation types.

LX are managed within the LX library and can also be associated with a recognition portfolio or custom portfolios.

Regardless of whether an LX has been associated with a recognition portfolio, custom portfolios, or even if the LX has expired, it will continue to be available to be viewed in your LX library.

How to create a Learning Experience

A learning experience is a professional experience or activity that is recognised by ANZCAP that can be used towards a level of ANZCAP recognition.

See also What is an LX?

Each ANZCAP LX activity is mapped to competency standards as outlined in FRAMEWORK.

Each Recognition has minimum requirements including Total LX, specific Core LX and Elective LX.
See Recognitions for more information on LX requirements for each recognition.

A learning experience can be created:

  • From scratch as a new LX

  • Cloned from a recently completed CPD activity.

LX validation types

There are three possible methods of validation of LX activities in ANZCAP.

These are:

  • Endorsed: Validation by an external party

  • Collaborative: Validated by a colleague or other third party working directly with the candidate

  • Individual: Validated through activities of the candidate themselves e.g. through journalling or reflection.

Complete list of LX activity types

The complete list of current LX activity types are included below.

Not all LX activity types can be used in all ANZCAP recognitions.

Different ANZCAP recognitions require different combinations of total LX, Core LX and Elective LX based on the business rules of the recognition.

We recommend you check recognition business rules before selecting relevant LX activity types to complete your Learning Experience (LX).
