This article describes how to build a recognition portfolio.

How to start a new recognition portfolio

A new recognition portfolio can be started by selecting the “Create new recognition” button available on either the ANZCAP home screen or the Recognition portfolio screen.

Choose which recognition portfolio you are starting by selecting either Resident, Registrar or Consultant and confirm by selecting “Create”.

If you hold no prior ANZCAP recognition you are able to start a Resident recognition portfolio.

If you hold ANZCAP Resident recognition then you are able to start a Registrar recognition portfolio.

If you hold ANZCAP Registrar recognition then you are able to start a Registrar or Consultant recognition portfolio.

If you hold ANZCAP Consultant recognition then you are able to start a Registrar or Consultant recognition portfolio.

The new recognition portfolio will then appear as “In Progress” in your Recognition Portfolio screen.

How to add LXs to your recognition portfolio

Choose the “View Portfolio” button to enter the Recognition portfolio builder screen.

Each Independent recognition portfolio is made up of:

  • 10 Core Learning Experiences

    • Core LXs are designed to show a minimum distribution of professional practice across all the competency domains. Completion of all Core LXs are mandatory for portfolio submission and the area(s) of practice within each LX must align with your chosen area(s) of ANZCAP specialty practice for Registrar or Consultant recognition.

  • 30 Elective Learning Experiences

    • Elective LXs allow you to demonstrate your individual professional practice. The area(s) of practice within each Elective LX must align with your chosen area(s) of ANZCAP specialty practice for Registrar or Consultant recognition. Refer to the ANZCAP Independent Program article for guidance on which combination of LXs can be used as Elective LXs.

Add a validated LX from your LX Library

Choose the “+ Add LX” button on either; the individual Core LX tile or in the Elective LX section.

Choose from a list of draft and validated LXs currently in your LX Library OR alternatively start a new LX by selecting the “+ Create New LX” button.

The progress bar at the top of the recognition portfolio builder page will update as each new LX is added to keep track of your recognition portfolio progress.

Removing an LX from your recognition portfolio

Choose the ellipsis in the top right corner of the LX tile and remove Learning Experience. The LX will then return to the LX Library.

Submitting a completed Recognition Portfolio for ANZCAP Recognition

Once you have completed all of the LX requirements for a recognition portfolio, the “Submit Portfolio” button will appear above the progress bar. Select this to submit it for review and ANZCAP Recognition.

If you are submitting for ANZCAP Registrar or Consultant recognition then you will be required to indicate which one or two areas of specialty practice you are being recognised for. The area of practice for each LX within your portfolio must align with these overall areas of specialty practice.
