Policy
Principles
The International Centre for Academic Integrity has determined key principles of academic integrity. ANZCAP has utilised these principles to act as a guide for its members and staff in their College related activities and to help cultivate a culture of integrity.
Honesty
The College expects it members to represent themselves and their professional experiences (through Learning Experiences) honestly when building their recognition portfolios.
Trust
The College recognises the importance of developing a professional community based on mutual trust. The College relies upon a climate of trust to engender collaboration, to share ideas freely, and to ensure that members of the College and those outside the College community can trust in the value and meaning of the recognition it issues.
Fairness
The College provides clear and transparent standards, policies and procedures to promote equality of opportunity and support fairness in the treatment of its members. The College’s policies and procedures adhere to the principles of procedural fairness and support the presumption of innocence.
Respect
The College relies on an environment of mutual respect to advance professional knowledge and development. Respect for the College involves avoiding unjust awarding of recognition and acknowledging others' work. Personal respect comes from an active commitment to and honest engagement in the recognition program.
Responsibility
All members of the College community accept a shared responsibility for maintaining professional integrity. This includes supporting practices that promote professional integrity, preventing misconduct where possible, and reporting discovered incidents of misrepresentation or misconduct to the College. The College in turn has an obligation to respond to reported incidents of misconduct, and to apply its policies and procedures consistently and in accordance with procedural fairness. Â
Roles and Responsibilities
Members
Members are expected to comply with the principles of this policy. It is the responsibility of each candidate to declare that they have complied with the Policy on the appropriate College documentation.
Staff
Suspected misconduct is reported to College Staff, who are responsible for initiating investigation of the misconduct and supporting the administration of the process.
Managing integrity concerns and disputes
ANZCAP staff review and validate submitted recognitions. If during this review or prior to this review there are concerns about the integrity of the recognition or its component learning experiences, ANZCAP, in the first instance will contact the candidate to discuss and where possible resolve any perceived integrity issues.
If, after a recognition is confirmed and is Active, any ANZCAP staff and any person
whose interests are directly and adversely affected by the awarding of an individual’s recognition; or
who is dissatisfied with the awarding of an individual’s recognition.
may, within three (3) months, dispute the awarding of the recognition as described in the ANZCAP disputes resolution procedure.
