Summary

This article contains information on how to complete a conference/seminar report.

What is the Conference/Seminar Report LX?

The Conference/Seminar Report is an Autonomous Learning Experience that can be used by an individual to record attendance at a seminar or conference and to guide self-evaluation and reflection of subsequent impact on practice. It can be used for inclusion towards ANZCAP recognition.

Conference/Seminar Report Process

🧩 Prepare

🎯 Engage

💭 Reflect

  1. Identify a conference or seminar that meets the development goals identified in your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plan.

  1. Attend chosen conference or seminar

  1. Engage in self-reflection on key learnings from conference/seminar content and the impact on your current and/or future practice

  2. Complete the Conference/Seminar Report digital template

  3. Attach seminar/conference certificate of attendance

Practice Recognition Level

The Conference/Seminar Report Learning Experience is mapped to Domain 5 of the National Competency Standards Framework for Pharmacists in Australia 2016. Please note that not all the domain 5 indicators listed in this document may be relevant to this Learning Experience.

The pharmacist must identify a conference or seminar that applies to their current level of practice and area of specialty. The conference and seminar learning outcomes must align with the development goals expected for a ANZCAP resident, register or consultant.

Please refer to the ANZCAP recognition descriptors article for the further guidance on markers of performance for each ANZCAP recognition level.

Collaborator

Pharmacists may have engaged in discussion with professional peers, mentors or managers to encourage reflective practice. However, this is an Autonomous Learning Experience and therefore the final submission should be completed by the pharmacist without collaboration.

Reflection & Goal Setting

The pharmacist is encouraged to utilize the SMART goal technique to develop any development goals that are identified from self-reflection after the experience.

Forms and Templates

The conference/seminar report tool is available via the ANZCAP Digital platform. Ideally pharmacists will enter relevant information into the digital tool after completion of the seminar or conference.

Alternatively, pharmacists may use conference attendance tools from their own organisation and upload it to the digital platform where they can then confirm completion of an Autonomous Reflective Report Learning Experience.

For further details on how to complete a Learning Experience on the ANZCAP digital platform please refer to the How to complete a Learning Experience article.
