ANZCAP Resident and ANZCAP Registrar recognition can be obtained by completion of an accredited Society of Hospital Pharmacist of Advanced Pharmacy Australia (SHPAAdPha) Training Program. To become a candidate for training program recognition, pharmacists must be:

  • Employed at a SHPA accredited Training Hospitalan AdPha accredited training workplace

  • Nominated by their hospital accredited workplace as a Resident or Registrar Training candidate

  • A current SHPA/ANZCAP memberAdPha member (which includes free access to ANZCAP)

Pharmacists can switch between the different programs as they move through their career to achieve the different levels of recognition. For example:

  • A pharmacist may complete their resident recognition via the independent program and then switch to the training program to complete their registrar award.

  • Alternatively a pharmacist may complete their resident and registrar recognition via the training program and then their consultant recognition via the independent program

Requirements for Resident Recognition via the Training Program

To obtain ANZCAP Resident Recognition recognition via the Training Program, pharmacists must:

  • Be an AHPRA Ahpra registered pharmacist practicing at the general level

  • Complete a Training Resident Recognition Portfolio
