How to create a Learning Experience

A learning experience is a professional experience or activity that is recognised by ANZCAP that can be used towards a level of ANZCAP recognition.

Each ANZCAP LX activity is mapped to competency standards as outlined in FRAMEWORK.

Each Recognition has minimum requirements including Total LX, specific Core LX and Elective LX.
See Recognitions for more information on LX requirements for each recognition.

A learning experience can be created:

  • From scratch as a new LX

  • Cloned from a recently completed CPD activity.

Creating an LX from scratch

  1. In the ANZCAP Landing Page or LX library, select

Cloning an LX from a completed CPD

  1. In the LX library, select the CPD tab to view eligible CPD that can be converted to an LX

  • Recorded in SHPA CPD Planning and Recording

  • In the status Finalised or Complete

  • Less than 5 years since the CPD completion date

LX status

LX's within the LX library can have the status of draft, validated or expired.

Draft

LX has been started by the user but the required declaration has not been completed.

The LX may not be allocated to any type of portfolio.

Validated

User or collaborator have completed the declaration.

The LX may be allocated to a recognition or a custom portfolio.

Expired

LX has been validate more then 5 years ago.

The LX may be allocated to a custom portfolio only.

The LX’s within the LX library are automatically grouped by their status, appearing draft and then validated and then expired.

You can search for a particular LX in the LX library by:

  • Using the search bar (at the top of the LX library) to search for a LX by title

  • Using the filter settings (underneath the search bar) to filter by activity type or status

Expiry of an LX

Most All LX Activity types are set to expire any individual LX at 5 years . There are a few exceptions, however, of LX that do not expire e.g., Higher degrees.Expiry of an LX, if it is of an LX activity type that expiresafter the date they are completed (validated). The change is status to expired, occurs automatically at 5 years.

The exception to this the Endorsed Post graduate degree LX.

Expiry of LX only impacts Recognition recognition portfolios that are not yet complete.

  • An expired LX will continue to appear in a recognition portfolio that was completed ('Active’) prior to the LX expiry date.

  • If an LX expires within a

  • recognition portfolio that is not yet complete, it no longer appears in the portfolio. This ensures that when the recognition is complete and submitted for validation, that the LX within the recognition represent a current profile of the candidate.

Expired LX appear in the LX library in the status Expired.

These LX continue to appear in Recognition portfolios that were complete ('Active’) prior to the LX expiry date (no change).

Delete an LX by selecting the ellipsis in the top right hand corner of the LX tile, and choosing “Delete Learning Experience”. Once a LX is deleted it will no longer appear in the LX library.
