Summary

This article describes the process and evidence required should you wish to build a recognition portfolio at a level not currently available to you.

Building a portfolio at a recognition level not currently available to you

By default, the ANZCAP portal only allows pharmacists who do not have a current active recognition to start building an Independent recognition portfolio at the Pharmacist Resident level.

There may be situations in which a pharmacist wishes to start building a recognition portfolio at a level above Resident (e.g., those who have newly migrated to Australia). In these situations, the pharmacist will need to demonstrate that their practice meets the minimum expected ANZCAP requirements of someone practicing at the level below which they wish to build a portfolio. Or, if they prefer they may submit a portfolio of the Core LX at the level they are hoping to obtain and utilise these LX for the recognition portfolio.

The minimum requirements which must be demonstrated are the 10 Core LX for a given level. For example, to be granted access to build a recognition portfolio at the Pharmacist Registrar level, the 10 Core LX of either the Pharmacist Resident, or Pharmacist Registrar level must be completed and submitted to ANZCAP.

Providing evidence of practice at a given recognition level in order to access another level does not confer ANZCAP recognition. Recognition can only be achieved through the completion of a recognition portfolio

Pharmacists who have already been recognised by ANZCAP through the Foundation or Independent pathways cannot use this process, they can only build recognition portfolios at the levels available to them by virtue of their recognition.

Core LX requirements for each level of recognition

The Core LX requirements for each level of recognition are:
