titleWhat are the benefits of ANZCAP recognition to me?

Recognition of career advancement will mean different things to different people.

Through our research we understand pharmacists and technicians coming through from university will benefit from using the IT platform to manage and build their recognition portfolios based on their interests and career opportunities. The recognitions gained can be used to share with colleagues or used in CVs, professional profiles and for job applications. More advanced practitioners have told us that they see benefit from sharing their advanced recognition and post-nominals.

No. Your AHPRA registration in Australia is separate to ANZCAP recognitions. Recognitions are designed to show your level of professional expertise and specialties, to assist and broaden career options, not to restrict them.

This platform represents a significant investment by SHPA and, as a for-purpose organisation, annual recognition payments will support this investment in the future of our profession.

ANZCAP is supported by education pharmacist staff who develop and implement the learning pathways, run the recognition system and audit applicants.

titleWhat are the different ANZCAP programs

Recognitions are defined within programs to allow flexibility in how a pharmacy professional can gain recognition.

Currently the programs include Foundation (a ‘grandfathering’ style program), Independent and Training (for those enrolled in recognised training programs through their work).

More programs will be added from early 2024 for new cohorts to gain recognition.

I don't want to join SHPA nor NZHPA but want to access ANZCAP. Is there a way I can do that?

Yes. While full SHPA and NZHPA members have ANZCAP access included in their annual membership, ANZCAP also offers a Direct ANZCAP membership that gives access to this functionality only.

Fees for recognition validation and annual renewal are different between SHPA full membership and Direct ANZCAP members. See also: Pricing schedule
